Barshaw Park Wins 2025/26 Community Green Flag Award

We’re proud to announce that Barshaw Park has been awarded the 2025/26 Community Green Flag a national mark of excellence for parks and green spaces. we achieved a Green Flag Community Award, it is part of the remit of Keep Scotland Beautiful - there are only a total of 10  community awards in Scotland.

This award is a testament to the year-round dedication of our volunteers at Friends of Barshaw Park, who work tirelessly to care for the park’s much loved green spaces.

The Walled Garden and Community Garden both open daily are key highlights of the park. Filled with beautiful and unusual plants, and home to raised beds maintained by local groups, these spaces are nurtured by volunteers and enjoyed by the community throughout the year.

With regular events, workshops and activities, the gardens are more than just places of beauty they’re spaces that bring people together.

A huge thank you to all who give their time and energy to keep Barshaw Park beautiful.
